Excursions for all types!
The Dolomiti Hostel is situated in a unique position in Trentino Alto Adige with plenty of nature and excursions. In front of the Pale di San Martino consider the "pearl of the dolomites" allowing yourself to enjoy the vast "coral reef dolomite": appreciating the landscape beauty and the numerous walks and "vie Ferrate".
The group of mountains of the Pale di San Martino offers many possibilities for those who want to go on an excursion of various types and lengths: from short and easy walks in the forests at lower altitude, until excursions at height altitudes with routes longer and more challenging for you .
Walks
You can make short-distance walks in the surroundings of the lake Plank, or a visit to the center of San Martino di Castrozza.
From the hostel there are many footpaths that lead to hikes of all levels from 20 minutes to hour long walks.
The most popular is the Biotipo visit that starts from the hostel and allows you to discover the flora of the local forest. The Malga Ces is another one that after 30 minutes brings you to the closest Hat.
Excursions
Of all the excursions suggested, the 2 most memorable treks brings you from the Col Verde (reachable with the Cabin Lift) to the Cant Del Gal: passing the Passo Ball and the Rifugio Pradidali or passing by the Fradusta Glacier and the Rifugio(hat) Treviso.
If it snow you can take a pair of snowshoes and go for a walk as far as Malga Cigolera.
Vie ferrate
Regarding Vie Ferrate, we want just to note some of them, from the most difficult we have the 'Bolver- Lugli' that in approximately three and half hours and brings you from the 'Colverde' to the top of the Cimon della Pala. Due to the great unevenness (approximately 1000m), the steepness and the exposed areas, it is advised for the more expert climbers.
Apart from the Via Ferrata, a more simple route is from `Dino Buzzati' that bypassing the Cimerlo Peak goes to the Rifugio del Velo until the Cant del Gal. A path equipped in the 70's in order to remember the famous writer whom loved to climb up in Val Canali.
Also memorable is La Via Ferrata "Fiamme Gialle" or Yellow flame that from Cant Del Gal brings you until Gosaldo, on a savage path that gives immense satisfaction to the hiker.
